Silliman University Senior High School (SUSHS) alumnus Enzo Miguel Kho secured his place as the Princeton University Undergraduate Student Government president during its winter elections on Nov. 29, 2024.
According to the Daily Princetonian, Kho said he will advocate for policy changes at the university, implement his platform’s initiatives, and focus on “sustained advocacy and ongoing discussions.”
Furthermore, among Kho’s initiatives will be to implement an “advocacy-driven working group” to facilitate discussions on activism and student rights as a solution to events of a bigger magnitude.
Prior to his presidency, Kho was a legislative member of the SU University Student Government Assembly and mayor of the SUSHS Humanities, Social Sciences, and Arts Strand from school year 2021-2022.
Moreover, Kho is the chairperson of the Alliance of Empowered Youth of the Philippines Board of Directors from 2022-present and launched the “Awakening the Giant Within” campaign to inspire youth leaders.
In his Facebook post, Kho recalled his upbringing in Negros Oriental before going abroad for college and being entrusted to “represent the voices of the brightest minds and future changemakers in the world” in Princeton.
“As I process this incredible moment, I can’t help but reflect on my roots and the experiences that shaped me back in the Philippines. Those challenges taught me resilience, adaptability, and how to thrive under pressure,” he wrote.
University affiliations
Within his first fall semester, Kho served as a community action fellow, peer career advisor, and engaged in the university’s Pace Center for Civic Engagement to help students transition to Princeton.
Additionally, he participated in organizations such as the Black Arts Company dance group, International Internship Program Office, and became the youth education chair for the Students Volunteers Council.
Kho also shared that he has been preparing new initiatives with a “new level of visibility” with the student body following his election as president.
“At the end of the day, we want to connect and to actually get all those perspectives and represent them in a way that’s very intentional,” he furthered.
Moreover, Kho’s aspiration to study abroad started with his involvement in youth development initiatives to acquire more knowledge and skills in different fields.
In another Facebook post, Kho shared that admissions to universities abroad required extensive requirements such as “glowing” letters of recommendation, interviews, essays, and admission tests.
Kho received full-ride scholarships from Princeton University, Duke Kunshan University, Brandeis University, Amherst College, and Wesleyan University.
