CON Blue Warriors bombard CED Raptors, 3-0

By Alyanna Gabas and Yra Suarin

Banking on strategic placings and impenetrable defenses, the College of Nursing (CON) Blue Warriors swept the College of Engineering and Design (CED) Raptors 3-0 in the Silliman University (SU) All-University Intramurals women’s volleyball championship game at the SU Gym, Feb. 28.

The Blue Warriors went berserk with their exceptional digs and sneaky drop balls, relentlessly outplaying the Raptors and leaving them scrambling to score against a sturdy defense.

Prior to their shutout loss, the Raptors put up a fight as open spikers Cherry Solitana and Chloe Tumpag unleashed ferocious spikes in an effort to break through the Blue Warriors’ defense.

Unfortunately, Alexia Baraoidan, the Blue Warriors’ libero, delivered a rock-solid defensive performance by showcasing her swift footwork and impeccable perimeter coverage while consistently denying CED’s lethal spikes and keeping the ball in play.

“Basically, sacrifice lang jud mi sa among time and ang drive pud sa team to win the championship, especially kay daghan mi mu graduate… It feels good to leave Silliman with a championship,” Blue Warriors’ team captain Jan Heart Napigkit said.

(Basically, we really sacrificed our time, and the team’s drive to win the championship was strong, especially since many of us are graduating.)

The Blue Warriors victoriously clinched the game when they dominantly secured the first three sets, leaving the Raptors struggling to regain momentum as they fell to a blank set score.

Fresh off their victory, the Blue Warriors are ready to face new challengers as they defend their championship title in next year’s Intramurals.
